An Intro to Shamanic Journey Work w/ Nicole Burke
Saturday, April 29th, 2-5pm

In this introductory workshop, we will use the sound of the drum to travel beyond the realm of ordinary consciousness and open to the information that lies beyond. Traditionally used by Shamans for healing purposes, journeying is a type of "seeing" that can be available to anyone willing to delve into connecting more deeply with their intuitive sense. We'll learn about the ethics of these practices, safe ways to explore other realms, how to welcome the directions, work with spirit allies and take a journey to the lower world.

No experience necessary. Please bring a hand drum or a rattle, a notebook, and a eye pillow or blindfold.

Cost: $65 . Pre-registration is required. Partial scholarships available.

DREAM SEED:
Sound Journey + Sacred Cacao Ceremony
Friday, May 19th, 6-9pm

Join us as we welcome back Dream Seed from Brooklyn, NY's Golden Drum Healing Collective.

About the event:
Cacao is an ancient medicine used by the Maya and other American peoples for purification and connecting to the heart. In this musical Cacao Ceremony, led by the members of Dream Seed, we will provide an authentic ritual cacao drink, made from pure cacao from Guatemala. Then we will embark on a 2-hour shamanic sound journey to help bring peace and healing to our hearts and minds.

Dream Seed is a shamanic sound ensemble created by members of Golden Drum, Sacred Arts Research Foundation, Pink Sun and Didge Project. Shamanic chanting, mantras, overtone singing, Native American songs, indigenous music, didgeridoos, crystal singing bowls, bells, gongs, harmoniums, tuning forks and other overtone-emitting instruments are used to create an environment conducive to deep relaxation and inward investigation. Participants are led through guided meditations and sound healing practices designed to harmonize body, mind and spirit.

Cost: $30 until 5/11, $35 thereafter

*PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED*

Heart of the Earth DRUM MAKING WORKSHOP
Saturday, May 20th 10am-8pm
w/ Dream Seed

The drum is a sacred instrument that invokes the heart and speaks a universal language. Its rhythmic heartbeat is at the center of ceremonies held by people all over the world. The shamanic drum is used to communicate with the Spirit and to connect our hearts with the heartbeat of the Earth. It is a powerful medicine that heals the body, heart, mind, and spirit.  In this workshop we will come together in a sacred space to create our own ceremonial drums and learn a frame drum-tying technique that we received from our communities spiritual leader and elder, Maestro Manuel Rufino.  We will be making one-sided hand drums, using wooden frames made of maple and elk, buffalo or deer hide, and sinew.

**In this special class we will give our students the option of dying their hide in natural indigo dye. You do not need to dye your drum, but please do notify us if you would like to do this.

The creation of the drum is a prayer and a ceremony in itself. We will work with our drums as a visioning meditation for our lives and our paths, so that our thoughts and intentions remain in a high vibration as we create the drums and through that process they become part of the drums. During that time we will share and listen to sacred songs from different Native traditions. Making your own personal drum is a sacred journey and the power of making something like this with your own hands is incredible, it becomes an extension of your own heart & mind.

COST: $275 for 16" drum or $295 for 18" drum

***A $35 additional cost collected the day of class if the student decides to indigo dye their hide. Please let us know if you would like to do this.***

REGISTRATION ENDLINE: THURSDAY, MAY 11TH

Please PayPal your full amount with a note informing us of which size and type hide you prefer.
